There is no excess on this car excess hire insurance policy.

This product is essentially covering the ‘excess’ related to renting a car or van which is collected from you when picking up a rental vehicle. The amount deducted from your card will be the amount reimbursed, up to the limit specified by your policy as long as all the rental conditions were met on both this policy and the car hire providers terms and conditions.

If your rental provider charges an insurance excess as a deposit when collecting a vehilce (most do), then this would still apply and need to be collected from you when you pick up the car or van.
